About Me

I'm a graduate of University of Staffordshire with a first class degree in Gameplay Design & Production.I've been using Unreal Engine for more than 5 years now, so I'm exploring new areas like experimental systems!My favourite projects involve reinterpreting how the player interacts with the game and defying expectations using that!

Technical Skills

Unreal Engine - 5+ Years
Expert knowledge of both Blueprint and C++ in Unreal Engine, developing complex and efficient core systems, gameplay elements & tool development.
C++ - 3+ Years
Extensive experience creating both high and low level systems used for game development and embedded systems environments.
Embedded Systems - 2+ Years
Experience using Arduino's to create custom experimental game controllers which interface with both game engines and Windows

Beyond Buttons

An Experiment in Immersion

This project is my final year project, I built my own custom game controller with new experimental inputs completely from scratch, as well as the accompanying game.It involves using the custom controller to "hack into a satellite" to rescue an astronaut who has been stranded after a meteor strike!

ACEngine

Abstract Control Engine

ACEngine (ACE) is my own game engine i created using SDL3 and C++, it features lots of common and important components you would expect of a game engine as well as a bunch of custom operations like game window manipulation (position, transparency, size, etcetera) and built in Serial Communication

Buccaneer Brawl

Pirate Themed 3v3 brawler

This was a team based project of 8 members spanning 8 weeks where I was the technical lead.We developed a very polished and feature rich game, following a brief of "3v3 Combat"The game itself is a pirate themed turn based combat, which uses a robust dynamic manager which supports potentially infinite amounts team members.

Pocket City

Optimised City Management

Pocket City is a city builder / management sim prototype developed over 8 weeks, which functions entirely off of math as opposed to collisions. This allows for much higher levels of optimisation and permits for a much bigger game
